“Experiencing community with God, and bringing God to our community”.

Because the gospel of Jesus Christ is sufficient for not only our salvation but also our sanctification, we at UHBC go to great lengths to ensure that the gospel is central to everything we do. We accept it by faith because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16) and, we try to apply it to every aspect of our lives as we strive to become more like Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 15:1-2).

By grace, through faith in Christ (Eph 2) we are saved from our sins and brought back into a relationship with God, all because of the sacrificial and substutionary death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In addition to God reconciling us to Himself through Christ (2 Corinthians 5:18), He has also called us to be ministers of reconciliation and has entrusted us with the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). Thus our mission and vision here at UHBC is to experience the joy of community with God for His glory and to bring His good news to our neighbors in effort to help others experience that same joyful relationship through Christ.
