I am a Pastor, Husband, and a Father, but most of all I am the wretched sinner in that song…
I was born in Tyler, TX in 1977 and lived in the Brownsboro area for a short while. At a very young age my family move to the Metroplex where I spent the formative years of my life. Upon graduating High School, I immediately joined the United States Marine Corps and served four years on active duty, seeing much of the world.
In 2002 I married the love of my life, Nafisa. We have been blessed with 3 beautiful boys and a wonderful life full of excitement as we follow the leading hand of God. Nafisa and I have a heart for the gospel and seeing the lost come to know and follow Jesus. Because of this passion, our full intention is to spend every day of the rest of our lives working as hard as we can, in His power, to see as many as possible meet Jesus.
Vision for ministry here at UHBC:
We live in an area that is considered by many to be the buckle on the Bible Belt of America. Unfortunately while this seems to lend itself to moral living, the truth is it has led many down the road of religion, which leads to the wide gate, and not the road of the gospel, which leads to the narrow gate (Matthew 7:14). This is clearly evident in that there is little to no objective evidence of salvation, regeneration, or life change in the lives of many people in our community and the surrounding areas. Thus our goal is not to see people simply pray a prayer, walk and aisle, or fill out a commitment card, but to see them actually transformed by the gospel through the power of the Holy Spirit. In short, God has called us to share the love of Christ, found in His gospel and His children, with people who have heard about it their entire lives, but have yet to experience it in a life changing way.

From a very young age, I have taken an avid interest in music. It is my earthly passion. In addition, the blessing of being raised in a Christian home has helped me seal the bond between God and the musical abilities He saw fit to grace me with. Although I was raised in Brownsville, TX (the Southernmost tip of Texas), I spend the bulk of my time in Brownsboro, TX, seeking the most of God, and longing to serve Him with musical excellence. I was called to serve as the Worship Leader of Union Hill Baptist Church in May of 2010, and I remain here still. My life in the ministry has taken me through, what I consider to be, some of the best and worst of times. However, I always strive to keep in mind: "Anything that has to do with serving the Almighty God is going to be extreme, no matter which direction the situation may turn." His Love for me is extreme, and I can only pray that I'm able to convey that Love to as many members of His creation as possible. Never in my life have I found myself so satisfied, yet so wanting, than my time in the ministry of Jesus Christ. He is my God, King, and Savior, and I belong to Him.
